Imported 45 minutes of video into iMovie as I need to edit it and want something different to Windows Movie maker.
“iMovie is great”,”Macs never crash” etc etc.
Well I only wanted to add a subtitle and it crashed dumping everything I imported into iMovie’s Trash (not the Mac Trash).
I could keep on hunting to try and find a way to recover it or I could just import it into Windows where it saves a hard copy to my hard drive and I know how to edit flawlessly.
If anyone knows a way around this for next time, please share! (And don’t just say “keep saving”…)

Even Linux crashes occasionally and I hear Mac’s are built on the same Unix base. Mind you, they don’t usually take the rest of the system with them as Windows has a habit of doing.
This looks clean, sharp and very pro. Goes to show that self-hosted Wordpress is the way to go for finesse. If you can face the upgrades, maybe you should stick with this?
This isn’t the self hosted one (which I’ve used before and am considering again), but just the usual wordpress.com one (well, isn’t everyone else here now?!).
I think the self hosted one doesn’t have the ‘blue bar’ at the top.
My Wordpress URL is actually http://nikkles.wordpress.com but set up the domain linking thing which actually works (as opposed to others such as Platform 27 (21 Publish)).
I agree, the iMovie crash just vanished, everything else was perfect. On windows I have to often restart explorer.exe or mess about in task manager or reboot to fix things, very annoying!
Macs are based on Unix, yep, probably the main key in it’s security and reliability.
This is Wordpress.com? The new MistyLook template had me fooled (not difficult really). Funny, I’m logged in and usually see the blue bar but it’s not here. It’s drawn by a Wordpress.com script I think, and I’ve allowed those. And it’s asking for my email which wouldn’t normally happen if I’m logged on. Perhaps it’s a domain redirection effect? Perhaps I’m on self hosted just now? Perhaps I’m confused (quite likely).
Is everybody here now then? Darn it, I thought I was being a rebel!
The blue bar wasn’t on mine to begin with then finally appeared. That annoyed me initially and not sure exactly how it works! Even looking it up on the internet is useless. Plenty of mentions but few helpful remedies.
I am seriously changing to a self hosted one. The handy thing is if I keep the same domain then I can switch away flawlessy (I think…)! Just switch the software, set the DNS, wait, sorted.
Plus then, I wouldn’t need a blue bar, I’d be able to add plugins again and edit themes freely. And…and…allsorts!
Well, I don’t know about everybody but a fair chunk of ex-20sixers seem to be here (some don’t know where they want to be and change each week lol). The rest are at Vox which is rubbish I think…nice platform but horrible design, rubbish themes, etc.
I neeeeed to ‘personalise’!
Does going self-hosted count as rebelling?!
