Today I needed to pop into Central Six to get a pair of new work shoes, followed by a quick stop at Tesco.

Ended up with a nice pair of shoes, and also some Skechers sandals from Brantano and also a load of clothes and a few other bits from Next, TK Maxx and Sports World.

Decided, why not just make a start on my summer clothing, never know when the sunny weather might sneak up on us.

I also need to get my summer holiday sorted out; I have 9 days off commencing 9th June so need to decide where I am going and get something booked. Thinking of returning to Ireland, so many cheap flights from Birmingham Airport so there’s easy, just need to find a nice place to stay that isn’t too much (as I have to pay extra for being on my own of course, annoying). Possibly somewhere in Dublin as central as I can get, or a little bit outside but on the DART line. Or maybe a hire car, but might not actually need one as transport is quite good there.

  1. June really isn’t far away, so best hurry with that booking.
I’m wondering about the South West this year, maybe Poole and then Sennen, in a VW camper for a change. But then I might need a new camera, and there’s so little time to choose and so many to look at! Yikes, better get started.

  2. What’s your camera budget? I could get you a few recommendations…
Would be fun whizzing round in a VW camper! Love the south west but this year I need to get out of this country, even if just for a short time.

  3. You really should book soon. They get booked out so quickly.
A nice holiday maybe just want you need after all that shopping.

  4. Also need it after all the work I’ve been doing, pretty much constant since my last break in September. Guess going away is a good excuse for more shopping :) and everything is usually cheaper in Euros!
Yeah I suppose I better start looking to getting something booked tomorrow night (no time tonight, start work at 5 tomorrow. in the AM…).

  5. Camera budget is a puzzle. Have two Canon SLR film bodies and a medium investment in lenses. Re-use the lenses (?) or sell everything (guess £350-400 on eBay). I’m thinking £350-500-ish for the new body but it depends on the lenses. The body won’t hold it’s value but the lenses will, so that’s where the money needs to go.
If I can’t re-use existing Canon lenses, then would need to replace the current 20-35mm and 400mm zoom and also leave room for something midrange. Looks like I have a lot of reading to do, which is a pain, prefer to be snapping.
What makes me laugh (or cry) is that the tiny remote control for a Canon will sell for more than the two bodies put together! Probably should have sold up a year ago. Oops as they say.
