and I can’t think of a better title, sorry!

It occurred to me recently that I would struggle to charge my iPod when away. It would be awkward to rely on the Macbook to do it (if it worked, the iPod is Windows formatted so data won’t work with Mac, but charging might do, and no I’m not faffing about reformatting it). I know Apple do a USB to mains adaptor for twenty quid which I considered (I guess there are cheaper nasty ones available!) but decided on spending an extra tenner on a Logic3 i-Station 3, which is a dock with basic-but-decent speakers and is also good for charging. It does data transfer too but I’ll probably not need to use it for that.

Also ordered a sleeve for the Macbook too, something I’ve needed for a while but not got round to getting. But I don’t want it getting scratched in my flight bag or rucksack. My work bag is fine as it has a perfectly sized compartment, that’s probably why I waited. So that’s 2 things sorted.

Just enjoyed a relaxing 3 days off work, back in on a late one this evening (later than usual as the schools are off so don’t need to do Guilsborough). Hope the weekend is good, quiet and not rainy will be very welcome. Been fairly pleasant so far today, although we had a cracking storm last night. Apparently a man in Coventry was hit by lightning, but luckily he lived (his shoe disintegrated and clothes went black). Walking through a grassy area I think, not so wise.

And finally… I’ve been importing these entries into Facebook, now they don’t seem to be working! Any ideas? My RSS feed is fine.

Take care.

Went into Coventry centre today. Picked up a bunch of Euros of course. Found a load of good stuff, some of which were good bargains including the following:

Picked up some cargo shorts (hot sunny weather willlllll be here alllllll summer), one fairly standard pair from Debenhams at £15 (a few pounds of in a sale) and a Slazenger pair for just £6 from TJ Hughes. Also from TJs a new suitcase, super light, average size, large capacity, deep purple colour (easy to find on the carousel), down from 40 to just £16.

A charity comedy DVD down from a tenner to just 99p from a bargain shop. Also in the same bargain shop, a 6 pack of Guinness for £4.99, cans of D&B (hard to find these days!) for 23p a piece, 2 tubes ‘of XXL’ sized Pringles for £1.38 total, bottle of Marstons for 99p (£1.59 in supermarket) and a bottle of apple flavoured vodka mix drink (£2-3 in a bar) for 39p!

Stopping at United Footwear on the way home, found a pair of Base light brown suede shoes for £19.99, and a pair of black leather Skechers slip ons for just £5!

I do think I’ve done pretty darn well today.

Today I needed to pop into Central Six to get a pair of new work shoes, followed by a quick stop at Tesco.

Ended up with a nice pair of shoes, and also some Skechers sandals from Brantano and also a load of clothes and a few other bits from Next, TK Maxx and Sports World.

Decided, why not just make a start on my summer clothing, never know when the sunny weather might sneak up on us.

I also need to get my summer holiday sorted out; I have 9 days off commencing 9th June so need to decide where I am going and get something booked. Thinking of returning to Ireland, so many cheap flights from Birmingham Airport so there’s easy, just need to find a nice place to stay that isn’t too much (as I have to pay extra for being on my own of course, annoying). Possibly somewhere in Dublin as central as I can get, or a little bit outside but on the DART line. Or maybe a hire car, but might not actually need one as transport is quite good there.
